Quick photo: Condo building in downtown Calgary that I took a few nights ago, just as the sun was setting.

On our way home the other night, my girlfriend and I stopped to check out the 110 year-old Langevin Bridge and it’s newly added LED awesomeness. I drive past the bridge every morning on my way to work and have been eager to capture it’s colours and the beauty that the bridge adds to my morning commute.

There is a six-year-long project on in Calgary right now called the RiverWalk Project that is dedicated to redeveloping 4 kilometres of riverfront along the Bow River, in conjunction with the new East Village development downtown.

Some details about the bridge lights:

- 156 different light assemblies
- 5600 LEDs
- 22,000 kilowatt hours per year
- 100,000 hour lifespan (35 years)
- the LEDs can display 16 million different colours
