Having been around for almost a decade, R4NT was in need of a logo that would bring them up to date with the current generation of readers. The new logo had to be more legible, as the previous identity was somewhat difficult to interpret, but it also had to maintain some similarities so it would not be a complete rebranding. The result is that the final logo maintains the acronym of the previous logo, but displays much more dominantly and artistically. The addition of the word “magazine” also helped emphasize the subject matter of the brand.
Another feature of the new identity is it’s ability to break down and display simply as an iconic element. The number 4, along with it’s accompanying flame, is used on various marketing materials and has the ability to be recognized easily by individuals aware of the brand. This new logo was easily one of my best, along with one of my favourites.
